FTMO states that its FTMO Challenge services provide simulated trading and are not regulated by the Czech National Bank or a similar financial authority.
FTMO in a nutshell
CFD fees start at EUR 79 for the 1-Step Challenge and EUR 89 for the 2-Step Challenge.
The 2-Step Challenge fee is refunded with the first reward.
A 14-day free trial is available.
- –The 1-Step Challenge fee is not refunded.
- –Futures evaluation fees are not refunded once paid, subject to the consumer withdrawal terms.
- –FTMO Challenge services use simulated trading.
The fee structure differs by product: the 1-Step Challenge has a non-refundable one-time fee, while the 2-Step Challenge fee is refunded with the first reward. Futures evaluation fees follow separate terms. CFD rewards can be requested from the 14th day after the first trade on the FTMO Account.
What are the FTMO challenge rules?
FTMO prohibits exploiting pricing, data or platform errors, latency arbitrage, excessive server activity, account rolling and coordinated opposite positions across accounts or providers.
CFD evaluations allow news trading. Standard FTMO Accounts restrict opening, closing and pending-order execution on affected instruments from two minutes before to two minutes after selected releases. Swing accounts have no such restriction. Futures allow news trading subject to the prohibited-practices rules.
CFD evaluations and Swing accounts permit overnight and weekend holding. Standard FTMO Accounts require positions to close before weekends and when rollover exceeds two hours. Futures positions and resting orders must close or be cancelled before 4:10 p.m. ET or the relevant market close, whichever is earlier.
Discretionary, algorithmic and expert-advisor trading are permitted when the strategy is legitimate and replicable in live markets. Third-party expert advisors remain subject to duplicated-strategy and allocation limits.
Futures permit copying between the trader’s own accounts when each complies independently, and prohibit third-party copying. Opposing positions across connected accounts or providers are prohibited; opposite positions within one simulated account are excepted by the rules. The CFD 1-Step Best Day rule limits the best day to 50% of positive-day profit. Exceeding it requires further trading rather than constituting a breach. The 2-Step comparison table has no Best Day rule.
Futures prohibit opening positions within 2% of a CME price limit, market manipulation such as spoofing, layering or wash trading, and holding positions or orders beyond the permitted session. The rules also prohibit using hedging or opposing positions to spread profits across days or bypass consistency limits.

How much does a FTMO challenge cost?
1-Step Challenge: €79 ($10,000), €199 ($25,000), €319 ($50,000), €499 ($100,000) or €999 ($200,000), a one-time fee that is not refunded. 2-Step Challenge: €89, €250, €345, €540 or €1,080 for the same account sizes, a one-time fee refunded with the first reward.
The free trial lasts 14 days, and Traders Fund Hub and PropNavi describe account sizes up to $200,000. It has one phase with a 5% profit target; the 2-Step trial requires at least 2 trading days, and otherwise the rules of the chosen challenge apply. One free trial can be active at a time, and passing it does not lead to an FTMO Account.
FTMO Futures evaluation fees are not refunded once paid. Under FTMO’s global Futures terms, consumers can withdraw from the agreement within 14 days, but only before opening their first simulated trade. Passing the evaluation ends the subscription.
In a Sim-Funded Futures account the contract limit rises with end-of-day profit above the starting balance: from 2 to 5 mini contracts on a $50,000 account, from 4 to 10 on $100,000 and from 6 to 15 on $150,000 (or ten micro contracts per mini). The limit falls back if end-of-day profit drops.
CFD objectives
The 1-Step Challenge has a 10% target, a 3% daily-loss limit and a 10% end-of-day trailing maximum loss. There are no minimum trading days and no time limit. The reward share is 90%.
The 2-Step Challenge has targets of 10% in the Challenge and 5% in Verification, with four trading days required in each phase. Its daily-loss limit is 5% and maximum loss is a static 10% of initial capital. There is no time limit. The standard reward share is 80%, rising to 90% under the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme conditions. The CFD Scaling Plan can increase account balances by 25% every four months when its requirements are met, up to USD 2,000,000 across FTMO Accounts.
Futures evaluation fees and rules
For USD 50,000, USD 100,000 and USD 150,000 accounts, Growth monthly evaluation fees are USD 119, USD 169 and USD 229; reset fees are USD 109, USD 159 and USD 219. Pro monthly fees are USD 139, USD 199 and USD 269; reset fees are USD 129, USD 189 and USD 259. Neither programme has an activation fee. The subscription remains active until passing, failure or cancellation.
Both Futures programmes have evaluation profit targets of USD 3,000, USD 6,000 and USD 9,000. Growth maximum drawdown is USD 2,000, USD 3,500 and USD 5,000, with no evaluation daily-loss limit. Its Sim-Funded daily-loss limits are USD 1,000, USD 2,000 and USD 3,000, with a soft daily stop. Pro maximum drawdown is USD 3,000, USD 4,500 and USD 6,000; hard daily-loss limits of USD 1,000, USD 1,500 and USD 2,000 apply in both phases. Maximum loss trails the balance at the end of the day.
Growth requires the best day to contribute no more than 40% of total closed evaluation profit; Pro uses 50%. Sim-Funded accounts have no consistency rule. Neither programme has minimum trading days or a fixed maximum duration.
The 1-Step daily-loss calculation uses the midnight balance plus open profit or loss, swaps and commissions, with a limit of 3% of initial simulated capital. The 2-Step daily limit is recalculated from the midnight balance less 5% of initial capital. The overall 1-Step loss limit trails at the end of the day; the 2-Step limit stays at 10% of initial capital.
The Futures Sim-Funded contract schedule uses end-of-day profit above starting capital. On a USD 50,000 account: USD 0–999 permits 2 minis or 20 micros; USD 1,000–1,999 permits 3 or 30; from USD 2,000, 5 or 50. On USD 100,000: USD 0–999 permits 4 or 40; USD 1,000–1,999, 5 or 50; USD 2,000–2,999, 8 or 80; from USD 3,000, 10 or 100. On USD 150,000: USD 0–999 permits 6 or 60; USD 1,000–1,999, 8 or 80; USD 2,000–2,999, 10 or 100; USD 3,000–4,499, 12 or 120; from USD 4,500, 15 or 150. The limits fall back if end-of-day profit drops.
